first time i heard this: "what is this something strange ??" second time i listened: "i have heard this before !" third time: "That's the best thing I've ever heard"
Bass solo!!!🔥
So.good. Consider the rest of the styles of music in this album...completely amazing.
I just noted some similarities with Dupree’s paradise solos in YCDTOSA vol 2… 😅
Zappa at his best guitar horns same thing!!?? How!😊
Halo Stevie vai
Hall of fame drumming from Bozzio!
Michael Brecker makes the planet go round
CUBER! @8:27!!!
This is the song that played inside the head of Vanellope von Schweetz when she tried Hidden Valley ranch for the first time
RIP Ronnie Cuber (80) ;-(
This has an incredible intensity. I will give permission to play it at my funeral and everyone is free to dance to it - freely
I'd love to hear separate tracks from Terry, Ruth, Ed, and Dave. If Dave Samuels played vibes what did Ruth play?
Marimba,xylo,vibes,Assorted perc.
mit lagoon hat sich das jazzuniversum mal eben in seiner größe gezeigt thx frank
Music is the Best ! ZAPPA is the BEST!
Instrumen
C C C... C C C... C C C.C F# I love that lol... just right to that flat 5 (as an the 'devil's chord')
This, and 'The Ocean is the Ultimate Solution' are some of my favorite Zappa recordings.
Wish there was a video of this show. Anybody know of one.
Can't stop listening to this after 35 years
This whole recording is brilliant. Bozio is of the charts. Same with Black Napkins and Illinois enema bandit. Off the charts good. Just my opinion.
Michael Brecker is insane with genius improv
This takes 10+ listens in my opinion to appreciate the counting and transitions in this. It definitely grows on you. For me Zappa and Tool take many listens to understand the brilliance and intricacies of it all.
Love it ....!!!!!
at 10:20 , the entrance of the winds thus orchestrated is legendary ...
This has been my absolutely favorite song since I first heard it in 1986. Thanks for putting it here.
I can't get enough of this. It's like listening to Fear inoculum and every tool recording. Counting with Frank or Danny Carey is a real lesson in math
Tool learned all their tricks from King Crimson.
Ruth was a badass. Same with Shiela on Zappa plays Zappa.
This is such a great compilation of talent and math. Time signatures are off the charts. Bozio is at his best. I wish more people who think they understand would examine this. Frank is brilliant. Frank and tool are incredibly good at making the complicated seem understandable until you try to keep up.
A 79 ans je ne m'en lasse pas Un coup de génie de FZ
Thumbs 👍up my friend (mon ami) oui, Frank was a genius!!
Got ya.
The highlight of course is Michael Brecker. And I’ll never understand why Zappa glommed on and overdubbed an annoying guitar solo that towards the end steps all over the first half of a short, witty solo by the great baritone sax player Ronnie Cuber. I could be wrong, but the way I remember it Cuber’s solo on the original LP version was not purposely obscured like the CD version.
Master piece
Enchanting, ravishing, beyond borders

I'm sorry but I just don't get Frank Zappa ... At All !!! ... I've heard really bad garage bands that sound better, at least they don't go on and on and ON !! ... Or am I dong it all wrong by NOT getting lit before I listen to his material ? ... THERE! ... someone had to say it !
No you’re just musically daft. This is basically jazz
It's not for everyone, but those who get it... get it!
Mio dio quante è bella ... The Genius !!!
I feel, that this song hast the best sax- and guitarsolo in one. Absolutely adorable, and both soloist are dead . . .
